BusyAudio

How it works.

A call that won’t end. A “quick question” that wasn’t. BusyAudio is the soundtrack for the graceful exit.

  1. Step 1

    Pick a vibe.

Busy office, meeting starting, bad signal, crying baby, and more.

  2. Step 2

    Mix it.

Layer sounds and set each volume. Loop is on by default.

  3. Step 3

    Exit gracefully.

“So sorry, they’re starting. Talk soon!” Set a timer and you’re done.

Questions.

What is BusyAudio?
A tiny, free soundboard of realistic background sounds — offices, meetings, travel, weather, home chaos — that loop seamlessly. Use them to add a little ambience to a call, wrap up a conversation gracefully, focus, or just have fun.
How do I use it on a call?
Put the call on speaker (or keep your laptop near your phone), open BusyAudio, and tap a sound. Layer a couple, adjust volumes, and set a timer if you want it to stop on its own. On a computer call, play it through your speakers near your mic.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes — it's built mobile-first and works in any modern browser. On iPhone, make sure the silent switch is off, since iOS mutes web audio in silent mode.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Free, no account, no app install. The whole site is static files — nothing to sign up for.
Where do the sounds come from?
Real field recordings released under CC0 (public domain), mostly from the wonderful BigSoundBank, plus a few sounds we synthesized ourselves. Full details on the credits page.
Do you track me?
No cookies, no accounts, no ad trackers. If we turn on analytics, it'll be a cookieless, privacy-friendly counter (like Plausible or Vercel Web Analytics) that only sees page views and which sounds get played.
Is this for fooling my boss?
Nope. Think of it as a mood button: a lighthearted way to say “gotta run” without the awkward silence. Please don’t use it to mislead anyone in ways that matter.
